About Block Crush

Block Crush is a match-3 puzzle game in the tradition of Bejeweled (2001) and Candy Crush Saga (2012). The core mechanic of swapping adjacent tiles to form color matches was popularized by PopCap Games and later refined by King into a multi-billion-dollar franchise.

Our version plays on an 8×8 grid with six gem colors. Matches of 3+ score points, but cascades — where cleared gems cause new matches to form as pieces fall — dramatically multiply your score. The cascade mechanic separates good players from great ones.

How to Play Block Crush

  • Click a gem to select it (it glows white)
  • Click an adjacent gem (up/down/left/right) to swap
  • If the swap creates 3+ same-color gems in a row or column, they vanish and score points
  • Gems above fall down, sometimes creating cascade chains
  • Reach the target score within 30 moves to advance to the next level
  • Complete all 5 levels to win!

Strategy Guide

  • Cascades first: Matches near the bottom create falling pieces that trigger free bonus chains
  • Bottom-heavy: Lower-row matches are more efficient because gravity does the chain setup
  • Count before you swap: A 4-match beats two 3-matches and costs the same move
  • Cascade bonus: 2nd cascade = 1.5× points, 3rd+ = 2× points

  • 3-gem match: 90 points
  • 4-gem match: 120 points
  • 5-gem match: 150 points
  • 2nd cascade: 1.5× multiplier
  • 3rd+ cascade: 2× multiplier — triggers screen shake!
  • Level scaling: Target increases 50% each level
